Description:
Between Nanaimo and Parksville is Nanoose Bay, home to the Fairwinds Golf and Country Club. All golfers -- whether novice or expert -- will feel at home here on this Les Furber designed course. The 6,151 yard, par 71 course features water hazards in play on 11 holes while more than 70 sand traps guard the greens. Three sets of tees ensure a challenging game for those of all skill levels. Those who wish to improve their game can take advantage of full practice facilities, including a driving range. Individual or group instruction is available from CPGA professionals.

The Fairwinds Schooner Cove Resort offers golf packages that include accommodations at the beautiful waterfront hotel, breakfast, dinner and of course golf. Fairwinds, however, is more than just a golf course. Take a break and trade in your putter for a racquet and play some tennis, or for a pole to partake of the excellent fishing. Hit the sand court for a little volleyball or embark onto the trails for walking and biking. Other amenities include a heated pool, hot tubs and a fully equipped fitness centre. There is also a courtesy shuttle to and from the Fairwinds Golf Club for shopping.

Have a boat? The 360-berth marina at Schooner Cove has visitor moorage for up to 150-foot vessels and includes complimentary use of showers, pool, hot tub and tennis courts. The marina is also home to a boat ramp, tackle shop, convenience store, laundry and cafe. Cruise out into the Strait of Georgia for a wonderful day of boating or kayaking.

It’s easy to see why Fairwinds was the 1999 BC PGA Facility of the Year. It’s great for golf and so much more.
