From Victoria, head north on Highway 1 for approximately 30K to Mill Bay. Ignore the sign directing you to Shawnigan Lake South. Once down the hill into Mill Bay, turn left at the second set of lights onto Shawnigan-Mill Bay Road for 6K to the village of Shawnigan Lake. Turn right a the 4-way stop and proceed on Renfrew Road approximately 3K to Shawnigan Beach Estates sign. Turn right then stay left following Gregory Road to Terrace on your left. Marigold House is on the corner. Description: About 35 minutes from Victoria in Shawnigan Lake lays an oasis in the form of the Marigold House Bed & Breakfast. Owners Pat and Al Pearce pride themselves on making your stay the most comfortable experience possible. Guests can choose from three bedrooms all featuring white goose down duvets, and featherbeds. The "Cowichan" Room is perfect for families as it offers a queen bed and single bed in a separate adjoining room. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms. You will never leave Marigold House on an empty stomach. Pat Pearce prepares home-cooked breakfasts that are made with locally produced ingredients wherever possible. Just check off your individual menu and wake up to such delectable delights as blueberry pancakes and stuffed peach French toast. Also enjoy fresh baked muffins and pastries, homemade jams, tea and juice. Before breakfast, enjoy coffee in the parlour of your room. The Pearces are also willing to accommodate special diets if arranged while making reservations. After breakfast your hosts will be more than happy to suggest things to do and places to see in the village of Shawnigan Lake and the surrounding area. When you return from a day of hiking, biking, sightseeing or shopping, put on one of their terry robes and take a stroll down to the hot tub. Relax while overlooking the sunken gardens. There is also a rec room with a pool table, TV and numerous games. In the evening, partake in tea and sweets or a glass of sherry. Before you leave you will be asked to have your photo taken and placed next to world map where all the different countries the Pearce’s have had visitors from are marked with a pin. A print will be sent to you as a delightful reminder of your stay. After visiting Marigold House I can sum it up in two words: luxurious comfort. Written By: Dale Andrews Map In This Category
