Located 25 minutes south of Nanaimo and 1 1/2hrs. north of Victoria. From Island Highway 1, turn east onto Brenton-Page Road just north of Ladysmith and follow the signs posted. It is approx 3K to the Inn. For sailors, lat. 49 deg.12'31", long. 123 deg.39'53" Description: Perched atop the shoreline overlooking Oyster Harbour with its attendant bald eagles, Page Point Inn is a cozy, laid back retreat offering superior hospitality. Lounge on the marina decks and watch the world—or just boats--go by. Built in 1940 on the farmlands of an 1873 B.C. pioneer and first oyster cultivator, David Page, the original "Manana Lodge" was a destination for the yachting elite.
Today, the Page Point Inn exudes charm with its rich, warm décor and impressive waterfront dining, bar, and nautical lounge area. The 11 B&B rooms have a rustic, antiquated ambience and style. Personal favourites include the "Eagle" or "Hummingbird" rooms with wonderful harbour views. Family accommodations, for up to six, are available in either of their two cabins equipped with kitchenettes. Those are nestled alongside the Inn. For the nautically inclined, stay aboard the 70-foot moored "Dame Pattie" racing sloop, a 1967 competitor in the America’s Cup. She sleeps eight, with full amenities, in a rich, polished setting. A major draw of the Page Point Inn are the epicurean delights created by their award-winning executive chef, Ian Ter Veer. The three-page menu offers superb West Coast creations renowned for their flavour, artistry and presentation. The menu is complimented with a fine wine list. A little on the pricier side, but well worth the expense as the meals challenge any 5-star locale. The breakfast half of the B&B is continental: pastries and coffee, but an "a la carte" menu is offered too. For the outdoor enthusiast, kayaks and canoes as well as a small flotilla of power and sailing boats are available at the Inn for fishing or exploring the coves of the harbour. The area is home to many artisans’ studios and shops with golfing, biking and hiking trails, and horseback riding nearby. For the boaters and sailors, the full marina offers moorage, a fuel dock (the only one in Ladysmith), laundry and shower facilities. Written By: Cheryl Oakes Map In This Category
