The hotel is just south of the Inner Harbour on Bellevue Street, just west of the Parliament Buildings. Description: "Live life Grand." Anyone who has visited the Hotel Grand Pacific lately would have to agree with the Grand Pacific motto: Life at this hotel really is grand. A recent expansion means that the hotel now commands an entire city block of choice real estate, directly opposite the U.S. ferry terminal and next door to the Parliament Buildings in Victoria's scenic downtown core. The hotel's entrance used to be hidden away on a side street where past visitors had a hard time finding the lobby. No more. Today the 308-room Grand Pacific boldly announces itself with sweeping drive and access from Belleville Street in the heart of the Inner Harbour. Inside, the green and floral decor reveals that the hotel has tapped into Victoria's "Garden City" moniker. With its floor-to-ceiling lobby windows, ornate chandeliers and its feng shui officially in order, the four-star hotel has the ambiance of casual elegance. The Grand Pacific has a variety of accommodations from standard rooms to luxury suites, some offering dramatic ocean and city views and high-speed Internet connections. The addition of new banquet and meeting rooms, each named after a nearby Gulf Island provides more options to the business traveller. The hotel also boasts a world-class athletic facility with Apex equipment, squash courts, ozonated pool, sauna and the option of a massage when the workout is over. The Pacific Buffet and Lounge is located just off the lobby. The lounge, with its dark wood bar, is the place to relax at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The adjacent restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, looks out to the harbour and serves up cuisine with a truly West Coast flavor -- classic British Columbian salmon and local peninsula ostrich, a treat for the more adventurous diners. BC wines are highlighted with several labels from Vancouver Island. Visitors can expect exceptional service during their stay. Written By: Sarah Pollard Map In This Category
