Can't miss it once you enter Bamfield. Situated at the top of the main Government Wharf where the MV Lady Rose docks, and overlooking Bamfield Inlet. Description: Home away from home for many sports fishermen, hikers and adventure enthusiasts is this East Bamfield motel overlooking Bamfield Inlet and the government wharf. Now one of the properties of the Hawkeye Marine Group, the motel's renovations have included upgrades to the furnishings and décor offering pleasant and comfortable surroundings.
With 31 rooms, the major comforts sought here are the showers, soft beds, and in-room coffee. Accommodations range from single- and double-occupancy rooms to the housekeeping and fully equipped kitchen units for groups or families. A welcome addition is the hostel style dorm for budget-minded, weary hikers just off the West Coast Trail. The "A" rooms offer full or partial waterfront views. The three-bedroom Hawkeye House, just below the motel at the water’s edge, sleeps up to eight, is beautifully decorated with a rustic charm, includes all amenities, a gourmet kitchen, and has a wonderful wraparound deck complete with hot tub. It is a superior retreat for those seeking privacy in a magnificent setting. Part of the complex includes the very popular, fully licensed, 65-seat marine pub, the Hawk’s Nest. A favourite among locals as well as guests, it is the place to congregate and swap "fishing tales" in this small community. The menu features daily lunch and dinner specials along with many other offerings. Best bets are the Fish and Chips and the Halibut Dinner. The pub is particularly busy on the "2 for 1 Steak Nights" or when host to special events, barbeques, and dances when weekend entertainment is occasionally brought in. Warm your tired bones in front of the featured rock fireplace while enjoying a pint. Boat moorage is available at the private dock with full use of shower and laundry facilities and fish cleaning/freezing station. RV travelers are accommodated in the large RV lot next to the motel.
