Nestled between Chinatown and Market Square in the historic Old Town section of Victoria, is this charming hotel with a definite European flair. Swans Suite has its own on-site brewery, brewpub, and beer and wine shop. Directly across from the Johnson Street Bridge, access to the Inner Harbour and downtown attractions are only steps away. Many suites have harbour views and Swans’ location offers a pleasant, relaxing, alternative to the bustle of the harbour core. The street level glassed-in patio restaurant, with its abundance of flowering baskets overflowing with color, brightens the exterior and is a local landmark. The rooms’ small, wrought iron balconies overlook the street and are also festooned with colorful flowers.

Built in 1913 as a warehouse, this four-story heritage building was once home to a granary and feed store. Restored, this hotel offers 29 beautifully furnished and decorated suites. All have fully equipped, full size kitchens, are extremely spacious (some with 11-foot ceilings or a two-story loft) and are a bargain for families or friends sharing accommodations.

One of the largest Canadian art collections is displayed throughout the hotel and the suites. Added touches include freshly cut flowers, complimentary coffee or tea, personally delivered daily newspapers, and comfy down duvets.

Draught ales, in true British fashion, are brewed on-site and served on tap in their Brewpub. Complimentary coupons, for hotel guests, offer a sampling of their ales. The oak and brick pub is very popular with live music Sunday through Thursday. Enjoy breakfast on their flowering patio. Lunches and dinners are available in the Fowl & Fish Café (Ale & Oyster House) and the Wild Saffron Bistro & Wine Bar. From traditional pub fare, to the creative and delicious West Coast and Asian cuisine, quality and value are excellent.
