Review

Olympic View Golf Club has become one of Canada's premier courses. Players can't help but take in the breathtaking views of the magnificent Olympic Mountains. This 18-hole championship course that features 12 lakes and two waterfalls is a challenging one that will please even the most serious golfer.

The facility has much to offer including a state-of-the-art practice and training area with 40 grass tees, six target greens, a 6,800-square-foot putting green, a 3,200-square-foot chipping and pitching green, and fairway and green-side practice bunkers. Also on site is the John Jacobs' Golf School. Olympic View is only one of two courses in all of Canada to host these two- to four-day programs of practical instruction.

Amenities abound at Olympic View. The pro shop is well stocked and has a friendly and helpful staff. After your round, relax in the 100-seat dining room and enjoy some of the better golf club food you will find. There is also a spacious lounge complete with full drink, lunch and dinner menus. It’s a wonderful place to go before or after a round. The banquet and meeting facilities can accommodate up to 350 guests for receptions, tournaments, Christmas parties, business meetings and trade shows. Also available is a boardroom that can hold meetings for up to 16 people. The menus for larger groups can include barbecues, full buffet meals or cocktail parties. VIP shuttle service is available servicing all hotels and ferry terminals in Victoria.

Directions

Follow Douglas Street to the Highway 1A - Colwood turn-off. Follow Highway 14 (Sooke Road) to Metchosin Road. Left on Metchosin Road. Then, right on Latoria Road. The trip should take about 20 minutes from Victoria's Inner Harbour.

What a spectacular course. I must say as well, that the young man who carved the meat for our group dinner was professional and fantastic, as was everyone else that I encountered there.

I'm letting you know about a few errors in your web listing. Olympic View's website is actually www.golfbc.com/courses/olympic_view
and it's address is officially in Victoria, not Sooke.
