The Canadian Princess Resort, known as one of British Columbia’s finest saltwater fishing lodges, is overlooks a sheltered harbor in the picturesque town of Ucluelet. The resort offers two separate accommodation choices: the marine-inspired staterooms onboard the 235-foot ship, the M.V. Canadian Princess, or the lovely chalet-style suites located ashore.

The floating part of the resort, the M.V. Canadian Princess, is permanently moored in the harbor and was once the flagship of the Canadian Hydrographic Service. Built in 1932 and previously named the William J. Stewart, the ship was bought in 1979 by the Oak Bay Marine Group. The organization refurbished the vessel, restoring some of its original magnificence and creating comfortable cabin-suites for hotel guests.

Onboard the Canadian Princess you will find the Stewart Room where you can order a broad range of exceptional meals. You can also relax with a drink in the Chart Room Lounge or chat with friends or other travelers in the Quarterdeck Lounge. If you are looking for a more adventuresome dining experience, you can take the shuttle bus from the hotel to the Wickaninnish Restaurant. The restaurant sits atop the rocky shore near Long Beach so that visitors can admire the stunning view of the Juan de Fuca Strait while indulging in savory and award-winning gourmet meals.

If indeed you visit the Canadian Princess Resort with a fishing expedition in mind, there are many options available. The hotel offers fly-in fishing packages, which include round-trip airfare from Vancouver to Ucluelet, accommodations, a seven-hour guided fishing trip, fishing equipment, and cleaning and packaging of any fish you catch and wish to take home with you. The hotel also has drive-in packages and day fishing excursions during the in season. The Barkley Sound area surrounding Ucluelet is home to premium fishing spots for salmon--chinook, silver, king, and coho--as well as lingcod, red snapper, and halibut.

Within easy walking, distance visitors will find the charming village of Ucluelet, various hiking and oceanside trails, and various other amenities and services. If you find yourself staying on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, the Canadian Princess Resort is the ideal home base for endless adventures and outdoor activities.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in – the service was slow (well over an hour), the food had clearly been left lying around in the kitchen and was dried out and hardly edible and to make matters worse it was cold! After complaining and another long wait – the same meals returned having been put into a microwave, even then they were still only just warm. Whilst the waitresses were very polite, no member of the management was interested and we left without paying (or eating).

The Canadian Princess has good food, sure, its a bit slow, but the fish is FRESH. the waitresses are polite, and so are the managers, wether or not you've got something nice to say,or bad to say.
the rooms are great, lots of space.and the views are magnifacint.
The house keeping is wonderful. Clean towels are put in after coming back from fishing.beds are always re-made,more soap, shampoos, ect are ALWAYS replaced. Plus the house keepers themselves where always helpfull.
Unless you dont like eating on a boat,or eating seafood from a restaurant that CLEARLY has taste,DONT eat there.but i love C.P
and i'd recomend it to anyone who asked of a good place to vacation at in BC.
