The main floor of this majestic manor offers a beautiful Edwardian dining room complete with ceiling murals and antique tapestries. Sans the screaming kids I had back then, I'll never forget the British elegance and peacefulness of the hotel itself. The food was also elegant. Now that they're grown and out I would love to try again.

I was just reading that the Olde England Inn is now the England Inn. Gone is much of the historical theming, although it appears good use has been made of the rich wood structure. I had stayed there (and quite enjoyed it) several times, including my honeymoon. For example, pictures I saw showed the dining rooom has been redone, and the seating and decor is modern. The food got excellent reviews. The establishment itself showed mixed reviews - some experiencing booking or room problems, others enjoying their stay with no issues. Apparently is was (understandably) more problematic during the remodel, but that's reported to be largely done. I'll miss the historical theme, but I'm still likely to give it a go the next time I stay in Victoria.

Fifty years ago my wife and I stayed in Ye Olde English Inn one night of our 3-day honeymoon. It was fabulous! We're thinking about a nostalgic one-night return to celebrate our Golden Anniversary.

My husband and I stayed three nights at the Ye Old England Inn a few years ago - it was fantastic. If you love anything British (but can't afford to visit England every year) --this place makes up for it!!! It is like stepping back in time - the food----fantastic!! go - splurge - enjoy yourself! We did!!
