The Blethering Place Tea Room and Restaurant, located in Oak Bay behind the Tweed Curtain, is one of Victoria’s landmark destinations for residents and tourists alike. The building dates back to 1912, and is the oldest in the Village. For many years it was the local grocer and post office, and then an antique shop in the 1970s. About 1975 the Ferguson’s turned this wonderful character building into the Parson’s Blethering Place. In 1981 the building again changed hands, and now includes a car park, 11 small shops, and the Blethering Place Tea Room and Restaurant.

This is not just another tearoom; the charm, atmosphere, and wonderful food, draw regular clients and create new ones everyday. You know a place is good when the locals eat there! Breakfast-—offered all day-—includes items such as Anne Hathaway’s Favourite French Toast, Eggs Benny, and Bangers & Mash, to name just a few. Try the Olde English Fish and Chips for lunch, Welsh Rarebit, or the Ploughman’s Lunch. The Dinner Menu is truly wonderful: Banquet Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding-—just like me mum makes—-West Coast Salmon, Crepes, Steak and Kidney Pie, and the list goes on.

Tourists love the Blethering Place Tea Room and Restaurant. Besides the regular menus, Afternoon Tea is served from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. The menu is perfect for a quick bite while sightseeing or a spot of tea if you get parched from all your shopping.
